Markéta Magidová mostly works in media of installation, video, photography
and text (artist book). In her work, she copes with inequality, abnormality and asymmetry of human relationships and living environment. Stressful or unusual situations can be seen as an axis of her interest – e.g. emphasis of effectivity, normality, objectivity or stability of the system. Artist observes – often with irony and wit – movements of minds and of bodies in a predetermined social, political
and economic grid. Laws are broken with subjectivity, illogical behaviour and irrationality, natural world is attacked by artificiality and non-life. Natural and physical laws or animal behaviour serves as a metaphor of a human society. Artist reflects emotions of tiredness, stress, life within undue environment, topics of dominancy and subordination, vulnerability or prejudices to alien elements or “the other”.
