ALI-EN-ACE focuses on transpersonal experiences that exceed the limits of ostensible being and rejuvenate the world of primal images. This process is grounded in the idea that there is no general reality; that the perception of reality is based entirely upon personal experience and that the general perception of reality can only develop through a personal comprehension of it. This project created for FUTURA by Veronika Drahotova analyses this process of alienation from society, from one’s self or from a common reality, and the consequential identification with another reality: identity. In locating this critical mass, Drahotova incorporates herself into the process, while at the same time incorporating it into her own visceral world, thus blurring the borders of ego.
The experience of depersonalization is characterized by the spatial expansion of one’s mind. ALI-EN-ACE will explore the consciousness of an experience that oversteps the limits of the self—what is traditionally conceived as individuality--and the notion of body as EGO. The consequential social adaptation is therefore a specific manifestation of the primary human activity.
