And volunteers

The multimedia installation - experiment with the phenomenon of collective performance - embodies the inner space of man and metaphorically also the world, related to Jan Amos Comenius’ theories. It portrays a group of people as a living organism who will simultaneously illustrate through various contradictory episodes the emergence and extinction, the end and the beginning of agony.

At the heart of the whole exhibit is a portable revolving stage, a symbol of impermanence and cyclicality. The entire experience will be captured by mobile cameras mounted on the bodies of the performers and volunteers. In addition individual elements of the group performance will be presented as a video installation during the event, thanks to a specially developed application designed by Michal Kindernay.
The curators of the project Darina Alster and Jana Orlova are also performers. What unites them is their interest in metaphysical aspects of everyday experience and exploring the boundaries between "old" and new.

Theatrum Mundi’s project was initiated by both curators in the frame of the cycle «End the agony» organized by Karlin Studios.

The turntable was kindly lent by theater Aqualung: http://www.divadloaqualung.cz/. Thank you!
