Mailbox seems to be floating over. I open message after message only to discover how irrelevant to me they are. An old alarm clock on the fridge heralds it’s time to get up. The inexorable alarm clock rattle reminds me there is no time left. I move everything into the recycle bin. Everything essential as well as trivial from the last two years is gone in a fraction of a second. Continuous alarm clock bell sound, which has “harassed” me since childhood every morning, brings up a feeling of nostalgia

I recall the box of old letters together with yellowish pictures on the bottom of my closet. It suddenly seems laughable how I have always clung to this collection and perceived each and every letter, postcard and message as an embodiment of situations or people who were close to me in my life. I finally managed to silence the alarm clock. The sudden surround of silence brings up a short but intensive feeling of solitude. Time goes on. I speedily check another mailbox and swiftly respond to many of my virtual friends. Curtness, marginality and “the public nature” of this communication do not bother me. Important is to inform and to be informed. I inform my so-called friends about my feelings. The mailbox gradually fills up again with messages from people I do not know. It is paradoxical how I take pleasure in their interest and virtual presence. I rest in a cocoon of bits of information and strange kinds of amity. I forgot about the box of letters on the bottom of my closed already, in the same way I forgot about many people who used to contribute to my archive…
