LET’S TALK ABOUT ART AND ARTISTS May 22, 2013, 18:00, American Center, Tržiště 13, Prague 1 Artist-in-Residence Programs and art exchange between the US and the Czech Republic Caroline Krzyszton, Curator of the AiR program / Michal Novotný, Project manager, FUTURA Ondřej Stupal, Director of the Center for Contemporary Arts Prague Zuzana Jakalová, Curator of the MeetFactory AiR program, which offers residencies to international artists for seven years Tracy Featherstone, Artist-in-Residence at the MeetFactory How does artist mobility and cultural exchange between the U.S. and the Czech Republic work? What is the reason for artist mobility and what visions and expectations do various participants (Artists-in-Residence, cultural institutions, supporting bodies) have? The talk will consist of a presentation by two major Artist-in–Residence programs in the Czech Republic cooperating with the United States, FUTURA and MeetFactory, and of a presentation by Tracy Featherstone, a MeetFactory Artist-in–Residence from Ohio, who is going to talk about her work and life in the Czech Republic.
